It's been a long time since I've watched E.R.  But really....Uncle Jesse as a paramedic?

Just because I'm supposed to

Last night Lora and I went to a little concert and this band, Poor Rich Folk, was opening.  I really liked the lyrics of the first song in their set (and the music, too, of course - unfortunately I don't think they've recorded this song yet, so you probably can't listen to it online anywhere).

~~~
For You to Save Me
should purity be more to me than something I boast on a technicality, or am i okay?
does loving the poor mean anything more than locking my door and looking away?
i just want to be another version of me; unsatisfied with mediocrity.
i don't want to love You anymore just because i'm supposed to, or because i did before.
i just want to love You because i love You.
Not because i have to for You to save me.
does faithfulness mean doing my best to convince You i love You,
when we both know that i could care less?
does walking the line mean wasting my time believing the lies
looking for loopholes and reading between the lines?
i just want to be another version of me; unsatisfied with mediocrity.
i don't want to love You anymore just because i'm supposed to, or because i did before.
i just want to love You because i love You.
Not because i have to for You to save me.
I want the world, I want the whole world...
THIS is in direct defiance to Savannah Luanne's comment that Xanga is dying.  Xanga will stay alive until I SAY it's dead lil' missy!!!
In other news, I've decided that my love languages have shifted somewhat, if the whole "love language" thing is even valid (which, by the way, is my new favorite word, "valid").  Here it is:  I really DO like to give gifts!  I'm a gifts girl - yahoo!  I probably don't always prove it, but there is something that just lights up in me when I'm able to carefully choose the perfect gift for someone and give it to them unexpectedly.  (Not in a scary, unexpected way...just as a nice surprise....haha!  I can only imagine.  Amber: "Surprise!"  Lora:  "Amber, get that squirrel out of our house!"  That would be in the "scary, unexpected" category.  AS IF I would bring a squirrel in the house.)
I'm excited about two (2) things tonight.
1.  I went and did what I've been only dreaming of doing today.  I asked the fellas at the music store what it's going to take to buy a cello.  It's the first step, but it's a step in the right direction!  I'm getting chills just thinking about it.
2.  I went and did another thing this evening that I'm hoping will set in motion an unstoppable chain of events involving me and a bunch of old folks   Should be interesting.  More to come on that one...
To end this post, I would like to say something about Washington -  the President, not the state.  This is it:  I like his name.  It is very dignified.
Peace, love, and sustainability to all.
think about...
"Too often having demonstrated our inability to exegete the Bible, resorting to proof texts, we've now expanded our incompetence to incompetent interpretation and applications of filmic texts. The majority of evangelicals are driven by the redemptive mandate not the mandate of creation, so they see film as an evangelistic tool more than an artistic expression. I am encouraged that a remnant of mostly younger Christians are seeing film for the art first … may their numbers multiply." - Staub
The index-finger-microphone is making a comeback!
There's nothing like a little dance party and sing along in front of the mirror (ALL the mirrors in our house!) to cheer this girl up after a few down days.  Oh Kelly C. and Natasha B., my pop princesses of the moment, you will never know how much I thank you!  And a special thanks to Shel and Lora for vacating the house during the performance
